THE IMPORTANCE OF A “SHAKE DOWN” TRIP

If you’re wondering what a ‘Shake Down’ trip is. It’s a short trip close to home to really get to know how everything works on your brand-new caravan.

When you pick up your new caravan, our dealership will have our experienced handover technician do an extensive run-through with you. This normally goes for a few hours and will go through all aspects of the van. Even if you have had a caravan before, this one will be different, and chances are it will have different features and fixtures that you may not be used to.

Everyone that picks up a new caravan from Sunseeker gets a night at a local caravan park (on us) so you have the chance to test out the van and if you have any questions, you are close by so we can help!

The purpose of the ‘shake down’ is to test out all the systems, re-read any manuals if you have forgotten how appliances work from the handover, check your packing/travelling checklists etc.

On the ‘shakedown’ trip, you can try out all the lights, use the toilet/shower, cook some food in the kitchen and start thinking about where you’ll put everything once you’re out adventuring. You’re not expected to know everything straight away, it takes quite a few trips to have everything down pat and feeling like a well-oiled machine.

Most importantly… have fun and get out there and enjoy your new caravan!!!

And as always, if you have any questions please feel free to contact the dealership anytime on 07 5491 1888 or support@sunseekercaravans.com.au
